French Government set to distribute free Paris 2024 tickets

The French Government is set to distribute free tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games through the ‘Tous aux Jeux’ (All at the Games) programme.

The scheme is to make sure the games are accessible to all. According to reports, around 100,000 tickets for the Olympics will be given out through the ‘une Billetterie Populaire’ (People’s Ticket Office), while 300,000 will be distributed for the Paralympics.

Some 100,000 tickets will also be offered to volunteers in sport, with 70,000 expected to be allocated through federations either affiliated to the National Olympic Committee, or approved by the Ministry of Sport or Paris 2024.

A further 260,000 are expected to be distributed to primary, secondary and high school pupils. The total includes 60,000 for the Olympics and the rest designated for the Paralympics. A ticket allocation will be donated to clubs that promote accessibility, while another 24,000 tickets are reserved for those in law enforcement, health workers and administrative workers.

The City of Paris is also expected to distribute 20,000 Olympic and 30,000 Paralympic tickets to young people involved in sport, city officials and Games volunteers. In Seine-Saint-Denis, some 16,000 tickets will be allocated for the Olympics and 24,000 for the Paralympics. Some 4,000 will be supplied by the Organising Committee.

The Ile de France region is expected to spend €3.5 million (£3m/$3.8m) on 50,000 tickets, with 35,000 to be distributed for the Olympics, while the Plaine Commune area is predicted to buy 22,000 tickets in addition to the 8,000 offered by Paris 2024. These tickets will be given to schools, sports clubs members and vulnerable citizens.
