People on the move: ASM Global, SeatGeek and more…


We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries…

Venue management and entertainment company ASM Global has brought in Jessica Ragsdale (pictured left) as vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Ragsdale spent eight years at technology giant Microsoft, most recently as a member of the company’s global diversity and inclusion team. In her position with ASM Global, Ragsdale will be working on transforming ideas into action plans that can be implemented with the company.

Ron Bension, ASM Global president and chief executive said: “We are honoured to have Jessica join us to serve as our new vice president of DEI, which remains an important part of business today and into the future.”

Melanie Gatward-Hallett has been promoted to the director of premium seating at The O2 in London. Gatward-Hallett has been with AEG, the live entertainment company which operates the venue, for almost 15 years.

Prior to her promotion, Gatward-Hallett was the head of premium seating for over six years, and senior manager for premium seating for over nine years.

Elsewhere and Jeffrey Ruiz (pictured right) has started a new role with Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise LA Galaxy and AEG as the coordinator of ticket operations at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Ruiz wrote on LinkedIn: “Happy New Year everyone. I am excited to announce that I will start a new journey with AEG and LA Galaxy as coordinator ticket operations at Dignity Health Sports Park. Thrilled to be a part of the LA Galaxy team and to learn the AXS system.”

He added: “Pretty surreal to land a role in the #MLS. Let’s go Galaxy!”

Tommy Luck has recently taken on a freelance role as Sale and Ticketing Manager for immersive experience ABBA Voyage, which is a virtual long-term concert series in London featuring avatars of Swedish pop icons ABBA.

Elliot Winard has been appointed in a new position with mobile-centric ticketing platform SeatGeek. Winard has started a new role as the senior engineering manager for the company, and has previous experience with music streaming platform Spotify.

He wrote on LinkedIn: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as senior engineering manager at SeatGeek! I’m excited to meet all of my SeatGeek co-workers and get to know the ticketing side of the music (and theatre and sports) industry.”

Protecht, the insurance technology provider for ticketing platforms, has promoted Lindsey Callinsky to senior vice president of e-commerce and marketing. Callinsky was previously the senior vice president, head of marketing at the company, having joined in January 2019. Before switching to Protecht, Callinsky held roles at financial services company Wells Fargo for over 14 years.

Sammy Swiger has accepted a new role at the University of Missouri as the director of ticket sales.

He said on LinkedIn: “Well… it didn’t take long for me to get back into college sports. After spending the last eight years in Knoxville, I accepted a position at the University of Missouri as the director of ticket sales! This was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make, but it was the right one.”

Swiger has previous experience with Minor League Baseball (MiLB) team Tennessee Smokies as the director of ticket and group sales, and with Learfield Ticketing Solutions, a company that provides a sports management sales solution to increase college ticket sales and fan relationships.

Carl-Erik Michalsen Moberg has been appointed as the new chief executive of live streaming and event payment platform, TicketCo. He will move into the role with immediate effect following the departure of Kåre Bottolfsen.

Michalsen Moberg co-founded TicketCo with Bottolfsen in 2012 and previously served as the chief sales officer.
